Volunteering is what keeps Share Bristol alive and thriving. We’re a small team with just six part-time paid staff. Everyone else, including our Trustees, volunteers their time and passion to make Share Bristol a success. Without our wonderful volunteers, none of this would be possible.

Volunteer Roles
Librarian of Things
Welcome members and visitors during our opening hours. Join a friendly team looking after our collection of Things.
Add new items to our online catalogue or update existing information. Manage lending and returns with confidence using our LendEngine system (don’t worry – training is provided!).
Thing Technician
Check donated items like tents, sewing machines, power drills and more before they hit the shelves or after they’ve been borrowed. Write up notes on how things work or if they need fixing or recycling – you’ll be helping us keep everything in top shape for members.
If you have repair skills, fantastic! You can help fix electronics, replace batteries or sew repairs to keep things ready to lend again. Clean and prepare Things for photoshoots and their next borrowing adventure.
Sewing Volunteer
Tackle seasonal sewing tasks to repair fabric-based items in our collection. You can work onsite or take items offsite for repairs as capacity allows. Sewing machines are available to borrow at Share Bristol sites for your convenience!
