Welcome to Share Bristol

Where Sharing Makes Sense

Imagine a world where everybody shares

At Share Bristol, that’s our vision. We want everyone in Bristol and South Gloucestershire to have easy access to the Things they need, without having to buy them new. Whether it’s a drill for a DIY project, camping gear for your next adventure, kitchen gadgets for a special meal, or party kits for those moments worth celebrating, we’re here to help you borrow instead of buy. It’s simple: Borrow what you need. Return when you’re done. Save money and space.

More than just Things

It’s about people and community

We’re a charity run largely by volunteers who believe in the power of sharing. Every time you pick up or drop off an item, you’ll be greeted by a friendly face. Our annual membership means you can borrow as much as you like, without worrying about extra fees piling up.

  • Affordable: One low-cost annual fee unlocks unlimited borrowing.
  • Personal: Real conversations with real people who care about your experience.
  • Community-focused: Opportunities to volunteer, share skills and connect with your neighbours.

Together, we’re making Bristol better

The Library of Things movement is growing around the world, but Share Bristol is proudly independent and rooted right here in our community. We opened our first Library of Things in Kingswood in May 2021, and we haven’t looked back! Now with locations in Bedminster (May 2024), Frenchay (January 2025), and Winterbourne (February 2026), we’re creating local hubs where everyone is welcome..

And we’re not stopping there. We want every neighbourhood across Bristol and South Gloucestershire to have its own Share Bristol. Got an idea where we should open next? Let us know!

This is why we do what we do:

  • To Help You Save Money: Don’t shell out on something you’ll use once or twice. Borrow it instead.
  • To Empower Each Other: Everyone gets access to Things that open up possibilities that may not otherwise have been there.
  • To Strengthen Our Community: Meet like-minded locals, volunteer with us, and help build something special together.
  • To Care For Our Planet: By borrowing rather than buying new, we cut down on waste and make better use of what already exists.
